Devils Re-S ign Travis Zajac

The New Jersey Devils have re-signed center Travis Zajac to an eight-year deal worth $46 million. Zajac will receive $3.5 million in the first year of the deal and $5 million in the second, with a $1 million bonus in each. He will make $6.5 million in seasons three through six and $5.75 million in each of the last two seasons.

Stephen Gionta

October 9, 1983 – Stephen Michael Gionta is an American ice hockey left wing, currently playing for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. He is the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta, who played for the Devils from 2001 to 2009. Due to his brother’s nickname, “The Rochester Rocket”, and the fact that a big part of Stephen’s game relates to speed as well, he is recently being dubbed as “The Rochester Pocket Rocket” by some fans in the light of his recent playoff performance.


September 4, 1963 – John “Beezer” Vanbiesbrouck is a retired American professional ice hockey goaltender, who was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007. A four-time All-Star goalie, John Vanbiesbrouck played for the New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils from 1981 to 2002. Vanbiesbrouck won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goaltender in 1986. He holds the NHL’s all-time record for most wins by an American born goaltender with 374.
