Michael Young has accepted a trade to the Philadelphia Phillies, who will ship right-handed reliever Josh Lindblom and minor league righty Lisalverto Bonilla to the Rangers to complete the deal.

August 30, 1978 – Clifton Phifer “Fluke” Lee is a Major League Baseball left-handed starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Cliff Lee is a starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. A three-time All-Star, Lee has played for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers since making his MLB debut in 2002. While with the Indians, Lee won the 2008 Cy Young Award. He was 4-0 for the Phillies in the 2009 post-season.


August 29, 1977 – Aaron Ryan Rowand is an American professional baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent. An All-Star outfielder, Aaron Rowand played for the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants from 2001 to 2011. Rowand was a member of the White Sox team that won the 2005 World Series and the Giants’ team that won the 2010 title. He won a Gold Glove Award in 2007.


August 29, 1977 – Roy Edward Oswalt is an American Major League Baseball relief pitcher for the Texas Rangers. Roy Oswalt is a starting pitcher for the Texas Rangers. A three-time All-Star, Oswalt has played for the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies and Rangers since his 2001 debut. He was named Most Valuable Player of the 2005 National League Championship Series while with the Astros, as the team advanced to its only World Series appearance. Oswalt won a gold medal as part of the 2000 US men’s Olympic baseball team.

Jim Thome is the designated hitter for the Baltimore Orioles and one of the top home run hitters in the history of baseball. A five-time All-Star, Thome has also played for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins since debuting in 1991. Thome is currently seventh on the all-time MLB home run list with 611.
